From evil springs forth more evil.
\nHence evil is to be feared even more than fire.
\nKural 203<\/p>\n

To commit no wrong, even against one’s enemies,
\nis said to be supreme wisdom.
\nKural 204<\/p>\n

Only the forgetful plot another’s ruin; others remember
\nthat virtue itself devises every plotter’s downfall.
\nKural 205<\/p>\n

Do not commit wrongful deeds, claiming to be poor.
\nSuch deeds only cause one to be poorer still.
\nKural 206<\/p>\n

Let one who hopes for freedom from afflictions’ pain
\navoid inflicting harm on others.
\nKural 207<\/p>\n

One can escape from hate-filled enemies,
\nbut his own hateful acts will pursue and destroy him.
\nKural 208<\/p>\n

As a man’s shadow follows his footsteps wherever he goes,
\neven so will destruction pursue those who commit sinful deeds.

If a man feels any fond affection for himself,
\nlet him not indulge in immoral deeds, however trifling.

If men neither deviate from right nor act wrongly,
