The One who restores and repeats all that has been created. The One who constantly renews, revives and repeats creation.<\/p>\n

The One who restores and revives the spiritual essence of every person. The One who repeatedly renews mankind’s proper relationship with goodness.<\/p>\n

The One who repeatedly restores and revives creation, both physically and spiritually.
\nFrom the root ’-w-d which has the following classical Arabic connotations:<\/p>\n

to return to something
\nto repeat, reproduce, to come back
\nto restore, to renew<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The term Mu’\u012bd is not specifically used as a Beautiful Name in the Qur’\u0101n.<\/p>\n

The terms al-Mubdi’ (the Starter) and al-Mu’\u012bd (the Restorer) are often used together in the hadith, and are also paired together by many commentators including al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b who described them as:<\/p>\n

al-Mubdi’ (the Beginner) al-Mu’\u012bd (the Restorer) – these terms mean the One who bestows existence, and when this origination is not preceded by something like it, it is called a beginning; but when it is preceded by something like it, then it is called restoration…. all things began with Him and are restored to Him; began in Him and in Him are restored.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And similarly, the two attributes\u00a0al-Mubdi’ al-Mu’\u012bd<\/i>\u00a0are defined in the lexicon\u00a0T\u0101j al-’Ar\u016bs<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>as:<\/p>\n

He who createth mankind, and who returneth them after life to death…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mubdi’ is the One who initiates, starts or begins the production or creation of all things.<\/p>\n

Bad\u012b’ is the One who creates in awesome, wonderful, amazingly original ways that have no precedent whatsoever.<\/p>\n

Mu’\u012bd is the One who repeats, restores and revives that which had been previously invented.<\/p>\n

B\u0101ri’ is the way the One works with substances, often creating from existing matter, making and evolving that which is free and clear of imperfections, free and clear of any other thing.<\/p>\n

Kh\u0101liq is the One who continues to plan, measure out and create and who has the power to change things from one state to another, in and out of existence.<\/p>\n

Mus<\/span>awwir is the One who arranges forms and colors, and who is the shaper of beauty.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
