The One who calls all life into being.<\/p>\n<p>The One who animates all life and who makes each living thing different and distinct.<br \/>\nFrom the three letter root\u00a0<span class=\"underline\">h<\/span>-y-y, which has the following classical Arabic connotations:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>to live, to be living<br \/>\nto become apparent, distinct<br \/>\nto animate, to revive<br \/>\nto vitalize, to call into being<br \/>\nto be whole, sound<br \/>\nto call, summon, invite, hasten<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This name is used in the Qur&#8217;\u0101n. For example, see 2:255<\/p>\n<p>The attributes of al-Hayy and al-Qayy\u016bm are often used to together, with al-Hayy signifying the attribute of ever-lasting life, and al-Qayy\u016bm signifying the attribute of self-existing life.
