Vedic Verses for 8/7/19

May we enjoy the vitalizing force of God, the radiant; may he grant us wealth! He is the God who sends to rest and wakens all life that moves on two feet or on four.

Rig Veda VI, 71, 2

With kindly, never failing guardian powers protect our house, O Savitri, today. O gold-tongued God, preserve us in the right path. Let no ill-wisher have us in his grasp.

Rig Veda VI, 71, 3

God Savitri, friend of our homes, gold-handed, has risen to meet the evening. With iron cheeks and honey-sweet tongue the God, worthy of praise, imparts good gifts to every worshiper.

Rig Veda VI, 71, 4

Like mediating priest, the God has extended his golden arms so lovely to behold. The heights of Heaven and Earth he has ascended and made each flying monster speed away.

Rig Veda VI, 71, 5

He divided Himself into three: the sun one-third and the air one-third. Thus Prana is divided into three. His head is the east and His arms are that (the north-east) and that (the south-east). His hinder part is the west and His two hip-bones are that (the north-west) and that (the south-west). His sides are the south and the north, His back is heaven, His belly is the intermediate region and His chest is the earth. Thus He stands firm on water. He who knows this stands firm wherever he goes.

Yajur Veda, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad I, II-The Process of Creation, 3
